COMPANY PROFILE
Spector, a renowned bass guitar brand, began in 1977 in Brooklyn. Vinny Fodera, the first employee, later launched his own esteemed line of basses. They ventured into mass production with DiMarzio, enhancing neck-making techniques. Harold Kuffner expanded their sales network in 1982. The brand gained fame when Sting used a white Spector NS-2 bass during The Police's Synchronicity tour, later exhibited at the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame. Sold to Kramer Guitars in 1985, production moved to New Jersey. Bankruptcy halted production in 1990. Partnerships in Asia and Czechoslovakia expanded their offerings. Stuart restarted the company in 1998, reclaiming the Spector trademark. KORG USA acquired Spector in 2019, maintaining its legacy in Long Island, NY, crafting basses in Woodstock. Today, Spector Basses are favored by top musicians globally.
