fusion matched strings
Located in Cortez, Colorado USA, the Curt Mangan® string factory builds over 400 boutique, premium quality single strings and 250 packaged sets for acoustic, electric and classical guitar, acoustic and electric bass guitar, mandolin, banjo, bajo sexto and quinto, plus other instruments with hand-crafted-pride. The company takes pride in being a small company dedicated to making great strings with big tone.
Curt Mangan has a 50-year history with guitar playing. He still plays and records professionally as he has done over the last 40 years. Curt founded his company late in life, but much of his life experience seems to have led directly to it. He has maintained his love of guitar since he took up the instrument at ten and played in rock bands as a teen and young adult. Later he learned valuable lessons in retail-supplier relations by running his own business, Longmont Music in Longmont, Colorado. And from 1986 to 2003 he worked as director of sales & marketing at Ernie Ball.
Despite this background, Curt admits that he entered the manufacturing side of the business with more questions than answers. "There were times after I jumped in that I wondered, "Am I the dumbest guy to walk the planet?'" But as he progressed toward the company's official launch in 2004 he concluded, "I may be the dumbest, but I'm also one of the luckiest."
Curt Mangan® FusionMatched® strings are manufactured in Cortez, Colorado USA, and were developed from the ground up and from a player's perspective. Every batch of Curt Mangan® strings is play-tested to make sure they feel and sound great.
